WHAT DO RISING CHRONIC DISEASE RATES MEAN FOR FLORIDA?


Projected total cost of chronic disease from 2016-2030 in Florida is $3 trillion. In 2015, 13.1 million people in Florida had at least 1 chronic disease, 5.6 million had 2 or more chronic diseases. Chronic disease could cost Florida $147 billion in medical costs and an extra $55.5 billion annually in lost employee productivity (average per year 2016-2030).
