Miami-Dade County: 2016 RWJF Culture of Health Prize Winner


MIAMI-DADE COUNTY AWARDED THE 2016 ROBERT WOOD JOHNSON FOUNDATION CULTURE OF HEALTH PRIZE


A vibrant, collaborative, and coordinated approach to improved health has happened across the diverse Miami-Dade County, where 51 percent of its almost 2.7 million residents are foreign-born and at least 79 cultures are represented within its borders. The Health Council of South Florida (HCSF) along with hundreds of other organizations and partners have joined together to make schools healthier, streets safer and more opportunities for well-being available to all.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (September 14, 2016) – The Florida Department of Health congratulates Miami-Dade County on receiving the 2016 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Culture of Health Prize. MiamiDade County is one of seven winners of this national award, which honors communities for their efforts to ensure all residents have the opportunity to live longer, healthier and more productive lives.
