JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Health Council of South Florida, Inc. (Council) is conducting a search for the President & CEO. The President & CEO is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Council and has overall responsibility for the activities of the staff and consultants engaged in the planning and execution of the organization's programs and projects. As the Chief Executive, the President & CEO develops and implements the organizational budget and business plan; coordinates and executes grant and contract agreements; and establishes operational policies. The President & CEO is responsible for policy and program objectives in compliance with Board direction; identifying new sources of program revenue; engaging in strategic planning; and facilitating and coordinating government relations. The President & CEO is appointed by, and reports to, the Board of Directors.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have a Master’s or higher degree in health planning, public health, public administration, health services administration, hospital administration, or a closely related field. Proven skills in the administration of organization activities and the supervision and coordination of organization personnel is required, as well as five years of work experience at the senior management level, with responsibilities that include planning or directing health services programs. Experience working with a volunteer coordinating board and representing board policies to public groups and governmental entities is desired. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to manage multiple contract activities are required.
COMPENSATION:
Salary range is competitive; commensurate based on qualifications and experience.
ABOUT THE COUNCIL:
The Council serves as the state designated local health planning agency for Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. It is a member of the Florida Association of Local Health Planning Agencies comprised of eleven not for profit community planning and implementation organizations created by Florida Statute, Chapter 408. The Council has been engaged in forecasting health care needs and access to health care delivery systems; providing data analysis and insight; increasing public awareness; designing programs and conducting evaluations; and providing consultation and assistance to Miami-Dade and Monroe County officials in the development and implementation of health care policy for over 48 years. The Council’s service areas include: assessing health needs and resources; improving access to healthcare; promoting health and wellness; addressing the needs of diverse populations; and engaging partners in strategic planning.
