Achievements

HCSF selected for the HCI 2015 Annual Achievement Award

We are honored to announce that HCSF has been awarded the 2015 Healthy Communities Institute’s Annual Achievement Award! This award recognizes organizations with innovative models for Health Improvement and how each applicant created change within their community.

The Health Council of South Florida was recognized for their Affordable Care Act (ACA) community page on Miami Matters. The page served as a platform, creating an ACA community page where information on upcoming events, how to schedule appointments with a HCSF Navigators, educational material and important links to resources and news could be shared with the community. During open enrollment, HCSF participated in over 30 educational sessions, and over 40 mass enrollment events throughout Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. HCSF also actively hosted multilingual enrollment efforts in several community based organizations (CBOs), providing easy access to Affordable Care Act/Health Insurance Marketplace (ACA/HIM) education, local resources and in person assistance for residents in their language of preference.
